Chanakya doesn't say to give up ur country for the sake of ur life rather to give up the country for the sake of ur 'soul(aatma)'... don't misunderstand things by ur interpretations ... Chanayka were far more intelligent while presenting these writings...They were blessed by the Lord Vishnu...

As far as the disclaimer is concered...he wrote it in a different era...when the caste was not by birth but by the person's qualities or work that he did. Take these accordingly.
And as far as women are concerned...Though the lines may seem generalized, they r not. They refer to the ones who take unnecessary advantage of being the fairer gender. And evn if they are generalized, again it was a different era long back. Take the good things and leave the rest.
